Sock Club

Explore the infinite world of sock knitting! Different toes, heels, legs, patterns, colours, cables. MUST have knit socks before!!!Third Friday evenings 5:30-7:30- once per month. The class dates will be January 19, February 16, March 16, and April 20. Will include a new sock technique and pattern each month. Jan: Corialis Sock – by Cat Bordhi. Feb: Sock with Stitch pattern. March and April will be determined by the group. Cost: $100 includes instruction, patterns, and snacks. You will also receive 20% off any materials purchased at Fly in the Fibre.

Knit Mitts

This is a 2 day workshop. First day is Saturday, January 20 and the second day is Saturday, February 3. Learn to knit warm, woolly, unique mittens. We will be learning on one long circular needle for magic loop method of knitting in the round. Bring: any circular needles (3.5-4.5 mm) that you have, stitch markers, waste yarn, darning needle. Supplies will be available at the beginning of class at Fly in the Fibre. (Cost of supplies approx. $20-25) Must be able to cast on, knit and purl.Cost of the class is $35.00 plus supplies.The class will be held at Fly in the Fibre but registration is taken at the Creston & District Community Complex. Needle Felting Vibrant Landscape

Instructor Leah Wilson: Intuitive fibre art painting by not using paint at all needle felting the brightly coloured, soft gentle wool fibre into a background. Relaxing and inspiring, needle felting 2D art is very enjoyable. Instructor will cover aspects of how to layer, blend, needle the fibre by stabbing, brushing, and tucking the fibre into a prepared background. Cost is 35.00 supplies included. Love is..An Original Scrapbook Layout designed by Lynn Mizera

Instructor: Lynn Mizera. Just in time for Valentines day, create a one-page scrapbook layout celebrating the people you love. Whether you are new to scrapbooking or have been doing it for years this class is for you. Lynne will guide you through the steps to create this one-page layout to showcase photos of your loved ones for your scrapbook or for framing. Bring to class three to five photographs of someone or something you love and note that you will be cutting these photos so please do not bring originals. Knitting Socks Toe-Up

Instructor: Carmen Ditzler. Includes 3 days. February 17, February 24, and March 3.Why toe-up? You can make a fantastic smooth toe shape. The toe acts as its own swatch for gauge! No picking up of stitches on the gusset. It is always fun to learn a new skill. Use your sock yarn to its utmost (no little leftover balls).If you have two circular needles the same size (length doesn't matter) bring them- with a wool yarn that matches the size preferably in a light colour. This will be for your learning sock. You will also be using two circular needles in 2.5-3.5mm 16-24" and sock weight yarn for a "real" sock. Bring at least two stitch markers in different colours or styles. There will be time ahead of the first class for assistance with needles and yarn. Cost is $60 plus supplies.

Needle Felted Mushroom Miniature Land

Instructor: Leah Wilson. This is a two-day workshop. Day 1: Saturday March 17th, 2pm to 4:30pm 2.5 hours learning how to sculpt soft wool fibre into little mushrooms using special needles for felting. Fun, tactile, and feels good, easy to achieve for all levels of experience. Learning the basics of 3D needle felting. Fibre and Needles provided.Day 2: Sunday March 18th, 2:30 to 5:00pm2.5 hours creating the patchwork felted landscape for your miniature mushrooms. Enjoy learning the basic techniques and artist secrets to finishing a needle felted sculpture.
